World Poker Tour Comes To Los Angeles For Two Tournaments At Commerce Casino.
The World Poker Tour (WPT) brings its riveting brand of take-no-prisoners poker to Los Angeles with three tournaments in one week. Minting a new millionaire with each stop on the tour, the prize pool is projected to reach a total of over $100 million for the 2005-2006 season. Tournaments Schedule
Wednesday, Feb. 15, 3-6 p.m. - Media Tournament.
Reporters invited to a media-only tournament with a WPT Invitational seat up for grabs. Must RSVP in advance.
Thursday, Feb. 16, 2:30-6:00 p.m. - LA Poker Classic.
Tournament play begins at 3:30 p.m. Registration and early rounds of World Poker Tour No Limit Texas Hold 'Em Event-LA Poker Classic. Will showcase an estimated 700 - 1000 top pros and talented amateurs vying for a $7+million prize pool. Champ Michael" The Grinder" Mizrachi returns to defend his title. Winner gets a guaranteed $2 million, runner up gets $1 million.
Tuesday, Feb. 21, Play begins at 5 p.m. - LA Poker Classic.
Final Table for LA Poker Classic. Down to the six "survivors." Cut-throat poker for millions of dollars.
Wednesday, Feb. 22, 5:30-11. WPT Invitational.
Tournament play begins at 7 pm. Media and celebrity reception for WPT Invitational, followed by tournament with more than 50 celebrities competing against top poker pros. Tentatively scheduled are James Woods, Ray Romano, Jason Alexander, Mimi Rogers, Stephen Collins, Jennifer Tilly, Sara Rue, Kevin Weisman, David Sutcliffe, Lou Diamond Phillips, Anne Heche, Ron Livingston, Adrian Young, Gavin Maloof, Ricardo Chivara, Jeremy Sisto, Marissa Jaret Winokur, Joshua Morrow, Christopher Rich, and many more.
It's anybody's game as Hollywood celebrities and superstars of poker compete in the WORLD POKER TOUR INVITATIONAL on February 22nd at the Commerce Casino. The Final Table of this tournament will be taped for the upcoming Fourth Season of the smash hit WORLD POKER TOUR(R) TV series that airs on the Travel Channel on Wednesday nights at 9:00p.m. At stake, a $200,000 prize pool and a seat with the elite at the WPT World Championship this spring. The last celebrity standing also receives $10,000 for a favorite charity.
Friday, Feb. 24, 4-8 p.m. WPT Invitational.
Tournament play begins at 5 pm. Final Table for WPT Invitational. Who knows? There could be a celebrity among the six.
