Team Full Tilt Pro Bansi Earns His 2nd WSOP Bracelet And More Than $500K In Prize Money.
Full Tilt Poker pro Praz Bansi has just won Event #5 at the 2010 World Series of Poker* in Vegas, collecting his second WSOP Gold bracelet and over $500,000 in cash as the first prize.
One of England's top professional players, Bansi started playing poker in 2005 and hasn't looked back since, picking up his first bracelet in a $1K No-Limit Hold 'em event at the 2006 WSOP. Bansi is coming off an amazing 2009, where he made the final table of 6 major poker events, including a win at the Five-Star Poker Classic tournament, where he won over $133K. He cashed in the $1.5K No-Limit Hold 'em 6-Handed event at the WSOP. Praz then topped the year with a 3rd place finish at the WSOP Europe £10K No-Limit Hold 'em Main Event for a payday of almost $595K.
Event #5 at the 2010 WSOP was a $1,500 No-Limit Hold 'em tournament that attracted a field of 2,092 players, with only 53 making it to the second day of play.
The fast-paced action quickly narrowed the field to the final table's nine players. Bansi reached the final table with only an average chip stack, but he was armed with a great deal of confidence and experience from his previous WSOP victory. A quiet presence for much of the day, Praz Bansi took over the table when play became four-handed.
Heads-up play began with Bansi holding a small chip lead over his opponent, Vincent Jacques. He methodically depleted Jacques' chip stack and came close to finishing the job on two separate occasions, only to see Jacques survive by hitting miracle outs each time.
Finally, a short-stacked Jacques pushed all in pre-flop with A-8 and Bansi quickly called with A-J. The board ran out Q-Q-J-8-2, sealing the victory for Bansi. With this win, he has now earned more than $2.3 million playing live tournaments around the world.
